Veterans Club Of Solivita Auxiliary

  Volunteer services are the heart of this auxiliary. The core principle of their mission is “Helping our Veteran neighbors”. 

Members of the Auxiliary attend Veterans Club Meetings and functions.

The Auxiliary serves as an integral component that assists in actualizing Club affairs.  
 

VCSA members distributed 120 holiday gift bags for the confined residents of the Community Living Center (CLC) at the Lake Nona VA Hospital. The gift bags included magazines, calendars, playing cards, toiletries, white boards & dry erase markers and hand signed Christmas cards.

All is being done with the hopes that it will brighten the days of these veterans who have been quarantined since March 2020. 

The VCSA Sunshine Group has delivered hand-written note cards expressing “thinking of you” to more than 150 Veterans residing at the Community Living Center on the Lake Nona VA Hospital campus. 

That facility has been on lockdown since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic and visitation has been limited. To ease the Veteran’s loneliness, the greeting cards are sent to remind them they are not forgotten.  

   The core principle of "helping our Veteran neighbors" includes outreach to identify Solivita residents that are isolated for whatever reason.

The Auxiliary reaches out to these veterans to offer friendship by way of a friendly visit or phone call.

Please contact the Auxiliary if you become aware of a Solivita Veteran who might need some company or perhaps assistance shopping for groceries.

 The Welcome group has personally telephoned New Veterans Club of Solivita members to welcome them and answered questions regarding various club resources. The Auxiliary members attended VCS Club Meetings to assist with additional welcome efforts to newcomers as well as current VCS members.  The Auxiliary marched in the Solivita Holiday Parade along with the Veterans Club Honor Guard.
